To get your clocks ticking again, refer to this step-by-step video on how to replace a synchronized clock motor and achieve accurate time.
To remove the clock hands, simply unscrew the nut on the face of the clock and spin off the hands. Underneath the little hand, there is a small friction plate, which should be put in a safe place to prevent from losing. After spinning off the hands, flip the clock face over being careful of protecting the shaft.
Unscrew the screws surrounding the wire mechanism. Place new clock motor in the same place as the old one and screw in tight. The wires are color coded and can be connected in the same fashion as how you disassembled it.
The most important part of replacing your clock motor is setting the hands correctly. They should be snug, but not tight. You don’t want to spin the second hand to the bottom of the shaft. Place it on just enough to place the nut over it.
Pro Tip: Best practice is to set the clock to 5:59 to ensure that everything is lined up correctly.
